Robert Race - a toy workshop

Robert Race makes moving toys and simple automata from found materials.

Using wood, wire, string, card and a variety of found materials, and working with very basic tools you will make a balancing toy and a small automaton operated with a crank handle.

Bring a notebook and any small but interesting bits and pieces to incorporate into a simple automaton.

West Barn, off Pound Lane, BA15 1LF

Ondine - Film

A lyrical modern fairy tale. Syracuse (Colin Farrell), an Irish fisherman’s life is transformed when he catches a beautiful and mysterious woman (Alicja Bachleda) in his nets. His daughter Annie (Alison Barry) believes the woman is magical. Syracuse falls in love.

Enchantment and darkness go hand in hand. Written and directed by Neil Jordan - and shot against the Irish coast’s magical backdrop by cinematographer Christopher Doyle - Ondine is a story of love, hope and the unwavering belief in the impossible.
